Believing for a Miracle

God wants to bless you, to anoint you, and to use you. But above all, He wants you to believe in Him and His words. God wants you to have faith in His promises. Are you ready to push away your doubt? Are you expecting God for a miracle in your life today?

Your Faith is Important

Let us read Mark 6:5-6, because of the people’s doubt in their heart, Jesus could not perform any miracles. Although the power of God within Jesus is without measure (John 3:34), God is unable to perform miracles in their unbelief.

God Wants Your Faith

Now, let us read Mark 5:34. Here, we have Jesus reassuring the woman with the issue of blood that she is healed. Let’s examine the passage closely:

And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
– Mark 5:25-34

First, the woman heard of Jesus. and from Romans 10:17, we know that faith comes form hearing the word of God. The woman heard of Jesus and faith is drawn close to her. Secondly, the woman concluded that she will be healed by simply touching Jesus’ garment. Here, we observe the woman putting her faith in action (James 2:17).  Through her confession, “If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole,” and thus reaching out to Jesus in faith, she was made whole. Thirdly,  Jesus was unaware of the woman, yet virtue went out of him to heal the woman. Many in the crowd touched Jesus, yet they had no faith to expect a miracle. Thus, we may conclude, faith connects you to the miracle working power of God.

Faith Connects You to God’s Power

The woman’s faith made her whole. God’s power moved in her, because she believed. God wants to reach out to you, but you ought to push your doubt away. Doubt is a bottleneck to God’s power. Faith and doubt do not coexist. God is waiting for you to respond to Him, are you ready to receive a miracle today?

May the LORD bless you and keep you.
